Red Neck Rampage in Utah

This story very much sickened me. Though I suppose some here will not think it was "wrong" but IMO, incest is just intrinsically very disgusting and leads to bad consequences. Let alone incest with two minors.

And just the name "LuAnn", the fact that it took place in Utah, makes it sound like something from a red neck stereotype.

My impression was that a redneck is a white guy that happens to be ignernt and damn proud of it, and the racial slur you used is a redneck term that describes a black guy that happens to be black.

This guy is not a redneck. I am a redneck. Rednecks for the most part are good people, who can laugh at themselves, work & play hard.
Sure we drive big trucks, wear wrangler jeans, cowboy boots (and a few dip or chew tobacco) but this type of behaviour is not typical of recneck life.
You might be thinking of 'white-trash' which this person might qualify for.

The thing is in communities like that one the marriages are not consentual. Young girls are assigned to marry people, if they don't like it too bad. If their husband dies (not unusual as they are often made to marry people much older than themselves) then they are immediatly made to marry someone else.

Women have no rights in these communities, they are a commodity to be traded.

Slurs also depend on whos saying them. A southern calling another southener a "redneck" is different than a northener calling a southener the same.

I've heard that its not so much the first generation children that are of great risk of defects, (though they have more of a chance then average) but second generation where the problems get serious.

But I'm not sure. Several of Darwin's children for example died prematurely, likely as a result of being born of cousin marriage.

And the fact that some kids are ok after first generation means little. Many kids who's parents drink and smoke while they are embryos are ok, but that doesn't help the ones that come out severelu deformed.

Besides, allowing for first generation incest, increases the chance of second generation. And that is really not a risk I'd like to take.

Also I think disgust over incest is normal. Most cultures for example see it as universally harmful and taboo, especially mother-son incest:
