Now that winter is here, my kids engage in various forms of odd "magic" to get snow days off from school.

The following oddities are typical:
-Silverware under the pillow
-wearing inside out pj's
-a third thing that escapes me

It does work, of course they are cued to do this odd stuff because they hear the weather report:D

Question: What kinds of magic do your kids do?

Inside out clothing had some significance in the Middle Ages, how it has come to mean anything to do with weather is beynd me. Anybody hear of this type of magic in any literature?

Very funny stuff, they don't really get much sleep:D

Screw with their little minds. Start you own magic rituals to counter theirs. You get a lot more non-snow days so you can prove that your magic is the stronger.

I used to do 'counter-magic' against my son when he was younger, 'jinxing' his wishes for school to be closed, etc. But one of my favorite stunts was to put a temporary tattoo of an eyeball on his forehead when he slept. Then wait for the fun to ensue when he awoke and saw himself in the mirror.
