How many YouTube vids have you watched in 5 years?

I was looking at my YouTube account and I noticed that I had watched 60,000 videos. Since the site is 5 years old today it makes the calculations fairly easy to get 12,000 a year and thus approx 30 views per day. I find this an astonishing figure that is very difficult to believe.

If you then bare in mind I probably didn't join in the first year and there are certainly some days/weeks/months(?) where I do not visit the site then the daily figure would go even higher - over 50 perhaps!!

There was a time when I certainly did spend a lot of time on it but that was only for a few months at most. I am shocked at the figure - is there something I'm missing?

Can people please post how many views they have made (Click on Account then Overview) and whether they think their figure is accurate or not.

I've got nearly 30,000 views which does seem like way too many.

Since around November last year I have watched 574 videos. I currently subscribe to 27 channels, not all of whom produce videos.

I suggest some of you may need to do something in real life. Here is something you can do.

I still don't seem to be able to log in to my youtube account using Firefox (something that happened when Google merged with youtube) so my account data is only valid for Safari and IE views - probably like 25% of the total - and it says 2,400. I don't think that's possible.

Mine only shows 410....That doesn't seem right at all even though I haven't been a YouTube fan for that long.

I've kept count since yesterday and I watched 3 videos on YouTube yet my total has risen by nearly 100. May be I'm watching them in my sleep!!

Huh? I thought video view count was how many times the vids you UPLOADED were watched by others... not the amount of vids you've watched.

In fact, it would be freaky coincidence if not, because my individual video view counts tallied up = video view count.

If you go into settings it should have "video views". This should be the number of videos you have watched. The "total upload views" isn't clear to me since that number is very close to my "video views" but several thousand off the number of total views from all my uploaded videos. I believe before youtube started changing the look of their site "video views" used to read "videos you have watched" but I could be wrong.

The first two quotes above are correct. The number does not exist. The quoted number is the number of videos of yours that others have watched. Some people in this thread have some very popular channels!
