I've created a website for someone that has a latest news section on the right hand side.
It's a simple static website and I don't want to go to the trouble of implementing the facility for them to update the news themselves.
A simple option is they would give me the latest news and I could paste it into the relevant section.

I've heard about, but never used, RSS feeds. Is this something that could be used? They have a facebook account so I was thinking I could grab the content from the notes section. I've had a look at the badges but they take the notes and create a crappy image of the content which looks bad when stretched to fit into the news area.

If not facebook, is it possible that they could update a blog and I could get the information from there?

I've done it with a google gadget and a blogger account. Does anyone know if it's possible with just facebook so they don't have to maintain 2 accounts?

It is possible to rss feed the facebook notes.

As Darat would say: Thread closed.

Scrub that thread closed part.

I've managed to set up a feed, from facebook notes, using a google gadget: The Google Sites RSS Reader (http://www.google.com/ig/directory?synd=open&hl=en&gl=en&url=http%3A%2F%2Fhosting.gmodules.com%2Fig%2Fgadge ts%2Ffile%2F101638777846294812126%2F2.xml) .

I have two problems:

(1) After I add new test notes to face book*, the reader does not update with the new notes. It's been stuck with the same content for about a week now.

(2) I can't find any documentation on google about how these gadgets are rendered internally. I need this info so that I know what css to use to get it to, say, centre properly in FF and IE.

Cheers

*The content didn't refresh when I tested it with Blogger either.
