Mike Marshall is a former Major League baseball player. In the early 70s, he realized he was destroying his arm using the "traditional" pitching delivery used by pitchers today. He created a new delivery based on Newtonian physics, which brought him success. He won the Cy Young in 1974 and has several records, including the most appearances by a pitcher in a season.

He claims to have been blackballed by Major League GMs. They refuse to listen to his scientific advice that he claims will save all pitchers from typical injuries.

He has posted some videos at this address:

Would anyone be interested in discussing this topic? I find it interesting that not one GM or pitching coach will give him a chance with their pitchers. I suppose this could be due to stubbornness. What pitcher wants to make it to the major leagues throwing 95mph, only to be told they need to completely rework their mechanics?

Still, it's clear that almost all pitchers end up breaking down as Marshall predicts. There is certainly an epidemic of elbow / shoulder surgery, and it's sad that nobody wants to listen to Marshall's suggestion.

Of course they have. When a GM pays tens of millions of dollars for a player, he wants the player to injure himself so he can't play.

The argument against that is that the GM doesn't want to go through the process of messing with "magic." Marshall isn't claiming GMs want to hurt anyone. However, he thinks they care more about now and the status quo than the future.
