Here is his argument:
1. Obama and the administration follow Rules for Radicals.
2. The NEA recommends Rules for Radicals.
3. Obama et al are Radicals.
4. The author has a quote in which he states that the earliest mythological radical in our history that rebelled and gained his own kingdom is Lucifer.
5. Obama administration worships Satan.
You cannot deny his logic!
At the end of the show he was like "no, that's just some guy he likes a lot, lol" to dodge.
I know, bashing Beck is old, but god damn I laughed so hard.

Why would you watch Beck? I don't even do that. He's way too religious for me. Since you ( Tsukasa Buddha ) watch it, he mentioned something about the internet. What was that about??

Unfortunately, the TV at the therapy center my wife is being treated at has the idiot on their waiting room TV.
The interesting part is that some of the folks there have as their only reading material "The Holy Bible". Standard reaction to Beck is a rolling of the eyes, a muttered "Sweet Jesus", or "Who is this jerk?".
I just grin and return to the NRA Magazine they leave laying about...

I swear to FSM, the only time he would say bizzaro isht was when I was higher than ten bass players. Anytime I was straight, just the usual 'Bush is keen!!!' nonsense...

I do listen to Beck occasionally (more on that later), and it seems to me that over the past couple months he has ramped up his content with religious references and overtones. I have always felt he has a bit a televangelist relationship with his audience, and so injecting more religion actually seems a fairly natural progression for him.
On listening to Beck, I gather I an not the only non-fan who tunes in from time to time. Recently, as his audience has shrunk, one explanation has been that it is not purely due to a seasonal norm, but that other non-fans who listen for a laugh or to keep tabs on what he's saying, just can't stand it anymore.
These days, I am feeling their pain.

I listened to him occasionally in his pre-Television days. He used to be much more of a humorist. And while he was definitely slanted to the right, he was much more focused on the entertainment aspect.
But then he figured out where the big bucks are.

Thanks for reaffirming my sanity. I could have sworn there was a time when he wasn't a wingnut. I think he snapped around 9/11.

No, it was well after that. He started down the path to the Dark Side around or just before he got the CNN gig. He was fully a Sith Lord by the time he got to Fox News.

Jumped the shark? Beck is the shark.
Other pundits know they've gone too far when they "jump the Beck."

1. Yes, when he went from radio to TV he mutated. He used to be funny.
2. I'll thank you not to slander Sith Lords in this way, sir.

I watched him (and Greta von Shriek) during their short terms on CNN, and felt both were a couple cans short.
Suspicions confirmed since.

It was after he got the CNN gig. He was pretty stable the first couple of years at CNN HNL. It was when he was not getting ratings that he decided to go wingnut on us.

Beck is in orbit around the shark. His recent career has been one continuous jump.

You know my thread about Rush getting tired of Beck getting all the attention? Well Rush has made the news TWICE about the oil spill in the Gulf. Beck felt that media glove slap, and had to respond by ramping up the insane. Didn't you see the Bat(s...) Signal over Fox-tham City?

My mom is a huge Beck fan and it's making my visits to her house somewhat tedious. All I can do is roll my eyes when she launches into a "progressives are evil" rant.

While I have always thought Beck was pretty ridiculous, and sometimes even incendiary, it's not until lately that I felt he might actually be becoming dangerous to his listeners.
Since he's introduced a much more religious spin, I am hearing his overall message changing to something like this:
1) Governments are out to deny you your constitutional God-given rights and religious freedom
2) You should prepare yourself for either a fall of the government, or a government that will come 'to get you'.
3) I will tell you what you can do about it (if you watch me on TV tonight, and buy my stuff)
4) Things are going to get worse before they get better.
5) They will get better: we are entering a time of miracles, and you will be on the side of miracles (I first heard him start using this terminology May 12).
Government is against you; form ranks with me; do what I tell you; send me money.
Is it just me, or is this sounding more and more like a religious cult?

And Limbaugh and Stewart are just attacking me for my politics - they know the truth. The government arrested and tortured the cement cap - THAT'S why the oil is leaking! NO ONE is saying that but me. And why do you think that is? Hmmmmm? What is the media hiding from you? Huh?
