View Full Version : Political apathy?

"Political apathy" or "Am I getting old"?

I've been working day and night (literally) these past few weeks. Last Monday I worked 30 hours straight, followed by about 16 hours on Wednesday. I'm currently seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and surfacing for air.

So, in gleeful anticipation, I click onto JREF P&CE, hoping to be affronted by obviously wrong views, and thus be justified in ecstatically entering the fray, countering said views. And what happens? Total underwhelmification! No thread seems new or stirs my juices. It's just the "same old, same old".

So, am I getting old or is it (even worse) early senility? Or do I just need some sleep? Or, and this is the worst scenario, is it really just the "same old, same old" and has always been so?

(Where's Jedi Knight when you need him?)

Probably some combination, but I wouldn't be surprised if the posters and their issues just become predictible to you, so you just say, "Aww, to heck with it. Been there, done that!" :)

Still, it seems that it is still "same old, same old". Every posters response, or at least the view of said poster, is predictable. And threads with a definite conclusion one way or another, are rare.

When the h*ll is someone going to invent a true Science of Politics? With measurable predictions which can decide matters, once and for all?

Forum burnout. It happens to everybody. Give it a rest and when you come back you will once again be engaged in righteous combat with the forces of evil.

In fact, this is one of the really nice things which originate in the States: Cool expressions. The Brits have a few of their own as well, but there is little doubt that the major producer of new buzzwords or similar, is the US.
