Am I the only one who has noticed the U.K. goverments firings of BBC CEOs for its seething anti-American, and anti-Blair false reporting?

This goes into the media bias category.

Maybe, but in which direction? On the surface it looks like simple authoritarian censorship to me, or is that O.K. in your book as long as you dislike the message being silenced?

They wouldn't have these issues if they'd stop government funded media, not unlike NPR over here on the correct side of the Atlantic.

You are, seeing as the Government has not fired anyone at the BBC, and indeed has no power to do so.

I look forward to the day you post something about the UK which is, even vaguely, factually correct.

Until then.........

Incidentally American , neither is the BBC "Government funded", nor does it have CEO's......

See, gang? We don't have to keep bringing up REO Speedwagon. Sooner or later, American says something just as dumb. For instance, in this post, American lets us know that he's never heard of television licenses in the UK.

Yeah, but we only have TV licences because the government makes us.

Also, the Foreign Office provides funds for the World Service.

Can you choose to not pay a license and watch nothing by Sky channel or fox or some other cable/satellite network? Not sure how the whole thing works. What I know about the UK I read in Viz and Private Eye.

Unfortunately not.

In which case, you should have quite an accurate view of Britain.
