For those who don't quite understand the context of what AZ has been going through since Operation Gatekeeper, this show is pretty good.
You will see a lot of 1950's myths exploded, along with any idea that identity theft is a victimless crime.

Are there any other strawmen the show addresses?

Cleon,
Please explain why you say PLA' statement is a strawman. I honestly don't get it.
ETA: Blush, actually, rereading your statement I get, bit too much red wine and excitement here in CT, apologies.
Here in SA, identity theft is quite a big problem and it certainly is in my experience, a crime with serious implications for the victim.

So who claims it's victimless?

Basically, who said identity theft is a victim less crime? No one that I know.

Well if nobody did, why is there a TV program having to explode the notion.
I edited my post seconds after hitting send. Please re read it, thanks.:o

The OP should have done a better job of making his case.

Because never in my life have I met anyone who thinks identity theft is a "victimless crime," whatever their stance on the immigration issue.

It's not just in SA; the Internet has internationalized the problem.

This statement excludes the perpetrators of course.:)

No, not necessarily. But then I don't generally hang out with identity thieves (at least as far as I know).

I was not asserting that you knew any of the perps, but as you say, who knows. Many young females of all races lose the identity document, report them as lost and have new documents issued.
Later when they want to get married, according to the official records they are already married.

I'm still trying to find a 1950's myth that exploded...
