Hey all!

I've added a link to my TAM2 report (http://members.cox.net/electric_monk/TAM2004) in the TAM2 Reports thread, but I only have enough excuse to create my own thread about once a year, so I'm taking full advantage by announcing a related contest.

I have scattered throughout the report various "mistakes", "omissions", "typos", and the like. For a chance at winning valuable no-prizes, just send me a PM identifying one (or more). If it is one of the more egregious or embarrassing errors, you should by all means post it here in this thread.

But I first have to prevent some premature celebration at finding mistakes that are not truly there:

* No, I don't need to hear about the blurry photos.
* No, you don't get a no-prize for pointing out that the Cast of Characters section is missing its promised text. I'll work on that tomorrow.
* No, it is not a mistake that the exclusive pajama party photos were taken by a male-type person.
* No, the Chocolate Contest was not rigged.

Also, I need to clear up a few potential misunderstandings:

* Yes, that is an unretouched photo of Andrew.
* Yes, that really is Julia Sweeney's home phone number on the card that Ian Rowland was proposing to auction off.
* Yes, Julia does have a (fairly hideous) picture she took of me at TAM2, (and none of Hal) in the Gallery section of her new website (http://www.juliasweeney.com). :p

Examples of no-prize winners:
* "Hey, that's not what he said..."
* "Hey, the correct spelling of..."
* "Hey, I was there, too!"
* "Hey, you're gonna regret posting that picture of me..."
* "Hey, that wasn't a mongoose that we put down his pants..."

Happy hunting!

It's just great. As I wrote to your Guest Book, I particularly enjoyed the details :)

Great job.

Thanks Scott & Cleo. :) I value both of your opinions highly.

It might have been like being there for you, Cleo, but for us, all we could do is miss having you there.

I took a picture of the same Cleopatra slot machine as did Scott. I also took a picture of your namesake's "mate". The slot machine next to yours was nestled up quite close. Maybe I'll post that pic when I get home.

Hey, just an idea for filling up TAM3...

I've sent on Electric Monk's report to some of my friends (and a relative). It's shows the fun social side, and yet the still fun conference side. It really captures the essance of what an Amazing meeting is like. So far I have two people who are going, "Man, I've got to plan to be there for TAM3".

Also, please note the people who say, "wow, this is different than your usual skeptic conference." The JREF difference is why JREF gets more women to attend, and I'm even guessing more magicians and young people.

By the way, do you recognize the UFO from the Pajama page? :D

This is just what I'm aiming for with the report. I want to be able to point people at it when they ask about what it was like. Not just who spoke, but everything that makes it the place to be in January.

Thanks Patricio and Kitty!

I can't decide whether Electric Monk is chivalrously protecting the skepchicks' privacy or is just being a selfish weenie.

Anyway the following quote by Lisa gives me hope:

One lady approached me and asked how to become a skepchick. I pointed out that a skeptic with boobs automatically qualifies.

By this definition, my "man-boobies" make me a skepchick and I will be able to attend a future Skepchick Pajama Party. :p

So I'd say option (b). :p
