Just saw a commercial for a new movie version of dracula.
In the cut scene from the movie, a vampire hunter takes out a strange-looking stick from his pocket. He clicks on it...
...it clicks open, like a pocket knife, into a cross...
...which he uses to throw at the vampire standing away from him like a ninja star or shurikan.
Please tell me I didn't just see that.

Being a good Buffy fan and all, I always wondered why they didn't combine the two implements. Stop em' and stake em'.
Hilarious bit in the Season Five ep where the "council" is interviewing all Buffy's friends, and Spike as well. Two of the council lackeys are holding crucifixes while the interviewer (who wrote her thesis on William) is questioning Spike.

I don't see anything strange. In fact, if that stick was silver and immersed in holy water, it was the logical thing to do.

This movie is from the guy that brought us "The Mummy". Historical accuracy is not his chief concern. Cartoony violence with monsters is. I think it looks like great b-movie material. This guy also brought us "Deep Rising" which has a great ending where the survivors of the sea monster wash up on an island and then some huge monster starts making it's way through the trees, ripping them up along the way. The camera pans out and the island is all volcano-y and in the shape of a skull. Hee-larious.
