I'm thinking about picking up tickets up front for Penn & Teller - being my first trip to Vegas at all, may as get that out of the way right away, even though the discounted tickets aren't going to be available this year.

Anyone else up for sharing a cab ride over to the Rio?

They're off to the UK for the duration of TAM, so the last show before the conference is on July 7th (which I've already got my ticket to). I'll be up for cab sharing, but will probably want to stay back after the show to say hi to the boys as long as my fellow cab occupants don't mind. :)

Definitely alright in my books to stick around and see the guys after the show.

I need to be nice to my VISA card until next week... then I'll book my tickets.

Just to note, the Rio and other outlets don't know P&T are going away, and are still listing tickets for the time they are gone, so be careful when you book. The Rio called a friend of mine to inform them the July 7th show was cancelled and would they like tickets to July 10th.....when they are long gone!

So, the last show is July 6th before they go to London July 9th. I haven't heard when they are supposed to be back and resuming shows at the Rio.

Are you sure? Because I've got a ticket for July 7th.

Penn & Teller/Rio website lists last show as the 7th of July. If this is canceled, I'll be super pissed. I've been waiting for years to go to Vegas to see their show. :(

Once you click from the link above, it take you to a page that shows conflicting dates (no show on the 7th). I've e-mailed Rio and lasvegas.com (which is where I purchased my ticket) and will let you know what they say. Also sent a tweet to Teller, on the off chance that he might reply.

I cannot begin to describe how disappointed I am. I've been interested in magic for nearly a decade, and Penn & Teller are the one act I have always wanted to see more than any other. Have been excited about this for 6 months, and now I won't get to see them. :(

May I suggest Lance Burton's or Mac King's shows? Lance Burton's show at the Monte Carlo is ending in September (source: links from his Wikipedia entry). Don't bother seeing Steve Wyrick though, he's not good IMHO.

P&T will be at the reception on the 8th, so be sure to talk with them then.

Shoot - when I looked the Rio had the 7th as the last show, not the 6th. Ah well, I might get a ticket for Lance Burton yet.

Criss Angel does a show with Cirque de Soleil? How to combine two annoying things into one big annoying thing that I don't want to see. It's dark from the 7th as well, in case anyone wanted to see it.

Does Banachek do a show for TAM? see it listed on his website...

I went to Penn & Teller's show here in Vancouver last night (very entertaining), and after the show Penn told me that they won't even be able to attend the TAM reception this year. I told Jeff in the chat room, and a while later he said there will be an official announcement about this on Monday.

Okay, that's it. Let's just cancel TAM now.

Wow.. When I went to TAM7 I thought meeting P&T was going to be a huge highlight. While I enjoyed meeting them, it ended up being way down on the list of great things at TAM.

Same here, I just saw this mentioned on another thread. Is anyone going on 6th (not sure I'll be up to it, though, having just arrived) or shall I just cancel? I'm also disappointed that lasvegas.com didn't think to inform me that the show they'd sold me a ticket for had been cancelled.

Yeah, me too. I arrive on the 6th at around 9:30pm, so won't have time to get to P&T gig on that night. :(
