I need an conservative ball park weight of the top section of the WTC1 tower to answer a question by a truther on another forum.

Any got figures for that?

the mass of the section above the impact zone was a lot more than any individual floor below it could possibly hold, once the damaged floors gave way.

this is all that really matters. the dynamic load of 30 floors crashing down on one floor, was simply too much to bare. and so on, and so on, and so on.

Didn't Gregory Urich calculate this at one point? I should go look (*totters off to do a search*).

ETA: Ok, here it is. http://forums.randi.org/showthread.php?t=87583

Also, as pointed out in that thread, there's some calculations in NCSTAR 1-6. Also, I need to remember that Bazant comes up with an estimate in his work.

The collapse initiation in WTC 1 occurred at the 98th story.

Gregory Urich's mass analysis shows the cumulative weight of stories 99 through 110 to be 69,303,000 lbs.
