It has become very clear to be that Meg Whitman has far more money than she has common sense.
Put aside the fact that she is so arrogant that she thinks it is good for the state for her to buy the office, or to lay off even more state employees.
She expects the California Nurses' Association to turn over their mailiong lists to her campaign so she can bomb them with junk mail. CNA has responded appropriately. :dl:

Is it any of Whitman's business?

You're not answering the question.
Assuming for the sake of argument the Cali Nurses did give the dems thier mailing lists and assuming they are an organization independent of any political party, then giving their lists to the republicans as well would only be fair... would it not?

DeMoro told The Associated Press that she would not give her 85,000-member mailing list to any political campaign.

Does anybody else sometimes wish we could have an apocalypse already? At least it would make things interesting. I'd also like to prove that I'm a survivor, not merely someone who gets by on "book learnin'."

As a former administrator of such a mailing list, the normal procedure when faced with such a request, is to deny it.
If the situation is of interest to the group, e.g., a class, or an event, then after concurrence and approval by the BOD/executive council, the sponsor of the event will provide the information, and the cost of printing and mailing, and the group itself will do the mailing.
At no time will the mailing list ever be released to anyone without a court order.

About as fair as demanding that BP fund Dennis Kucinich's campaign at the same level they do the next corporate toady's.
