View Full Version : TAM Protest: Million Ghost March

Apparently the dead are opposed to critical thinking and will be out in droves protesting TAM 8:

For too long, paranormal skeptics have mocked people with a curiosity about ghosts, spirits and the afterlife. The Million Ghost March has been conceived as an opportunity to turn the tables on these unimaginative naysayers. It is a march to defy logic,” said Doc Paranormal, Adjunct Professor Without Portfolio at Edgar Allan Poe Community College, the event’s chief sponsor.
...
(EAPCC is a gathering place for non-traditional ideas and people formed at the request of Mr. Poe’s deceased spirit, which was contacted during an otherwise routine séance. Full details are available online at Ask Doc Paranormal, the school publication.)

I'm even sadder now that I will not be attending TAM.

BTW, I searched for Million Ghost March, but didn't find anything. If this has been discussed before, I apologize.

The site seems to be a bit of a spoof

I just hope those people are being really careful in their dealings with the dead. You just never know with them. One minute you're planning protest marches and things are going swimmingly, but, by the end of the night, you're running for your life from an army of brain eating zombies. It's just not worth it.

I think it's a spoof... but all too often I've been surprised by just how crazy some peoples' ideas ARE...

Part of me hopes it's not a spoof, and this guy shows up in the South Point Lobby, yelling...

Here's to hoping Hunter S. Thompson can make it as announced!

I'd love to hear a ghostly recounting of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Well, yes, the Ask Doc Paranormal site (http://www.askdocparanormal.com/) has the whiff of spoof about it, but ghostvillage seems to take their ghosts seriously, so I'm not sure whether their tongue is in cheek or not. I still really like the idea, though.

I seem to remember something about a previous march being talked about before TAM 6, I don't actually remember if we saw the protest, but I do remember it being talked about beforehand.

I will bring my Zombaid shirt, that should go down a treat if this woo-woo nonsense does occur ;)

I would say that the "Edgar Allen Poe Community College" is a direct reference to Poe's Law (http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Poe's_Law), but I could be wrong.

One million ghosts? Hardly worth it. They'll only get a dollar each. ;)

More than most dead get these days. Remember the old custom to put a coin in a dead's mouth, for them to pay the ferryman to the underworld?

Not that a dollar would get you far with a taxi in Las Vegas...

This looks like something I'll have to cover for The Bolingbrook Babbler (http://www.bolingbrookbabbler.com). I wish I had come up with the idea first.

I saw this yesterday on ghostvillage.com and posted it on Twitter. I hadn't heard anything previous because the post date was older (mid-June).
The site is load of fun:

This statement is probably true:
Only mad dogs and paranormal skeptics would attend a convention in Las Vegas’s blazing July heat. :D

If Ronny James Dio shows up, I'm going to soooo rock out! :)

Otherwise, meh
