A 50 year old man killed a five year old albino girl and hacked off her legs and drank her blood. He was captured and sentenced to hang.

While I am normally against the death penalty, I am prepared to make the occasional exception.

I think the topic may be a bit misleading there. I'm kinda guessing that it wasn't the drinking blood that was punishable by death.

That said, same caveat as always. I _would_ be prepared to make an exception for this guy, if I could somehow believe that the justice system in any country is basically omniscient and never gets anything wrong. But as it is, a lot of innocent people have already been executed before.

Poor albino, poor dude who drank blood thinking it would be magical. Both misleaded by pseudoscience - and crime, in the case of the killer.

It's a shame that in the absence of science and technology, without fail, people seem to bow to superstitions.

I'm generally willing to believe that the jury knows more about the case than I do, unless I have reason to believe otherwise.

More, yes, but they are not infallible. Quite the contrary in fact.

Look, I'm not saying "set this guy free". I'm saying that the track record is poor enough to not be worth risking executing an innocent. Put him in jail for life.
