View Full Version : My precognitive dream experience

Last night, I dreamed I was with my mother doing the tourist thing at the Empire State Building. When we got to the 85th floor balcony, instead of the fence on the wall that really exists there was a ledge to lean over.
I leaned over and was struck with an attack of vertigo. Then I realized I had to pee.
I pulled back from the ledge and asked a cop where is the men's room. The cop directed me to a spiral staircase and told me it was on the 256th floor.
I ascended the spiral staircase and it got narrower and narrower. When it got too narrow to continue, I thought "Goddam I have to pee"!
Then I woke up. And sure enough, I had to pee.
This is not the first time something of the sort has happened to me
Do I qualify for the million dollar prize? :p

Yup, you get the prize. And I'm annoyed, because about 42 years ago I had a dream that I was falling and when I woke up, I was on the floor. Coulda had a cool million.

I had a precognitive dream at least once and like many people, have probably experienced several. I realized I had walked down a certain street past a unique door, and was convinced that I had dreamed the exact scene earlier. When it happened I thought, 'Whoa, Deju Vu." Then I realized that my brain was fooling itself, retroactively changing the current event so it felt like a memory and I had forseen the event.
I'm not being sarcastic, I really think we have a great capacity for self-deception and editing.
Oh yeah. Free Martha and Jail Enron.

I had a dream last night that my girlfriend died.
My dreams have never been the least bit precognitive...but it still spooked me. I didn't tell her about it.

The correct term would be false memory! It’s understandable that people would use the word dream since the phenomena in question has become such a popular delusion!

The matter that I have detailed is no false memory, nor an isolated data point. Many is the time that I have dreamed of having to pee and being thwarted by some absurd circumstance, such as impossibly narrow staircase.
Or dreamed that I have peed and peed and peed, with no relief.
There is definitely something paranormal going on. :p

Your dream about your girl friend dying doesn't mean death, it is just the opposite and means birth. Not necessarily literally, it could mean she embarks on a new way of living or gets a new job totally different from the one she's got. It may even be that she gets a new boyfriend. Whatever, watch the next few weeks to see how things change for her

Yadda yadda yadda.
Don't give me no Freudian dream bull crapola.
I dream I have to pee, and when I wake up it is true. I genuinely do have to pee. If I wake up and say I have to pee and I do pee, that is proven precognition.
Where's my million dollars?

It's not precognition, it's cause and effect. If you have a high fever you may dream of fire, I have.

Of course it's precognition. And unlike your fever dream it's reliably repeatable.
Last night I dreamed I was wandering around the Times Square subway station looking for some place to pee unobserved. If I were in such a situation in real life, I would emerge from the subway and go into some bar or restaurant to use their facilities.
Let Randi or one of his minions observe me sleeping for several days. If I wake up and report that I have dreamed I have to pee, and then I do pee, I should get the million.

I once dreamed I was in Antarctica and I was freezing to death.
All I really needed was another blanket, but I'll take the million as well.

Man it sounds like all you ever dream about is peeing. Peeing here peeing there, peeing all over the damn place! Remind me never to invite you over to a party. And besides, where are all the hot women in the dreams? Sounds like your too busy peeing.

I have been writing only of my precognitive dreams, not dreams in general which have no paranormal content, and are not on topic for this forum.

Hey, you're lucky, usually my dreams about peeing are precognitive of... other... ummm... emissions. Kid you not. I'm thinking nobody's going to be willing to verify this.

Speaking of déjà vu and dreams, I used to go through patches where I would suddenly think, “I’ve dreamt this” and it would actually make me rather nauseous and woozy. Very bizarre.

Well gee whiz. They can hear me pee if they don't want to watch. Being watched would tend to deter me anyhow. Observer effect.
A scowling Randi watching me is equivalent to an impossibly narrow staircase. I'd try to wake up. :p

Actually, it doesn't mean anything. Except perhaps that he cares for his girlfriend.

Since you're the one making the extraordinary claim, perhaps you'd care to elaborate then.
So you believe in ghosts and precognition. Anything else?

I had a dream a couple weeks ago that, if it came true, would probably qualify for the million. I doubt, however, that Emmanuel Lewis (TV's "Webster") is a sex offender.

Was Max serious?
I was going to say 'lighten up' to Abdul and Ipecac as I thought what Max wrote was rather amusing.

Yes, Max was indeed serious.

An aside:
Folk wisdom would have it that if you had to pee in a dream, and you did pee, then you would wet the bed.
However, I've had many dreams wherein I had to pee and did pee and felt the relief, and then I'd usually have another dream wherein I had to pee. On none of these instanced did I wet the bed.
Similarly, I've heard folk wisdom that if you died in a dream, then you'd die in real life. I've had a few dreams wherein I died, but I haven't died in reality yet.

He can't have been serious, and if he was, if a dream about death means birth, what if I dream about having sex with a woman? Am I really gay? Will I be castrated? I hope not, I kinda like my anatomy where it is.

I won't presume to speak for Max, only he can say whether or not he was serious. However, based on his posting history, I think it more than likely that he was completely serious.
While you're absolutely right that his reading of the dream was funny because it was so vague and all-encompassing, we know that's how these "predictions" are usually done. Loads and loads of people still believe in them, no matter how ridiculous.
