Being overweight is not only bad for men's hearts - it also makes them less intelligent. A study of the intelligence of the obese has found that being seriously overweight reduces intelligence in males, possibly through its effect on blood circulation in the brain.
The finding comes as obesity rates grow in Australia - almost 40 per cent of the population is overweight and more than 20 per cent obese, according to a Federal Government report.
Links between obesity and conditions such as high blood pressure, known to increase the risk of poor blood circulation and diseases such as strokes, have long been recognised.

The actual question is:
Are they stupid because they're obese, or are they obese because they're stupid, or is there something else that results in obesity and stupidity.

according to the article, all that has been gone into. This is a part of a long term investigation, and the mechanism to explain the result is present.

Curiously, fat women did not suffer the same fate.
Curious, indeed. Maybe the brains of women are better protected against the effect as a result of the need to stay sharp when gaining weight during pregnancy?

Fat and stupid. That's just the way I like my prey!
Now where'd I put those Fava beans, and the Chiante?

I would assume that you are some sort of medium sized predatory mammal, possibly short sighted and renound for agressiveness.
What exactly is the jury on cannibalism? Healthy habit or not?

You assmue that I, like Badger like my food kicking and screaming. Not so, I prefer my teeth intact, because they don't grow back.

My rugby club used to sell t-shirts in reference to the incident which the movie/book "Alive" was based on (Argentinian rugby team plane crashes in Andes, survivors eventually dine on victims)
The t-shirts said "Rugby players eat their dead." Recycling at its finest!

I'm skinny, so that explains why I'm so intelligent.

Muscle requires more blood than fatty tissue. So if reduced blood flow to the brain causes lower intelligence: body builders beware!

Interestingly, many body builders have trouble running because their lungs can't supply enough air to the extra bulk, just as with a fat person. I hired a body builder once as an assistant; If we had to walk any distance, I ended up carrying most of the heavy gear, because he would start wheezing like an asthmatic. He was the one who pointed this phenomenon out to me. How often do you see Arnold running for any distance in his movies? When you do, it's almost always a very long shot and could be a stunt double.
