Yeah, I know, I know--"fake" is redundant.

"Psychic" column (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4192685/)

My favorite quote: "My Russian grandmother, who called herself a healer, was a psychic". Sort of like saying, "My Russian grandfather, who called himself a thief, was actually a bank robber".

Of course, she didn't really WANT to be a psychic--she was forced into it to help others after repeated urgings. Right. And I'm Frank Sinatra.

P.S.

Is it just me, or are all these "psychic" women ugly? (I don't mean "not sexy" or "not young". I mean UGLY...)

That bone-seer girl isn't bad looking at all. Certainly not ugly.

Is it just me, or do others also think the fact that this person lives at Great Neck to be ironic?

Yup, and the fact that she does phone consultations and has a novel coming out has nothing to do with her doing a column. It's just that it's such an incredible burden being a professional con arti--er--pyschic.

Note the sponsered links at the bottom of the page. These kind of stories/pieces bring their own advertising dollar to Newsweek. You just need to make the advertisers happy by giving them a nice safe place to find the type of readers they are looking for.
