I saw that and I didn't know if I had to laugh or cry. Seriously.

I saw it as well and I doubt that it would work since the pig fat could wind up on the Jew victims as well.

Here's a thread on Free Rebublic (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1076941/posts) on this issue.
The rabidness of some of the responses is utterly breathtaking.
Wrap them in bacon and they'll stop killing us.
Yup that'll work.

The bomber doesn't care about the jewish victims anyway but theoritically this fat will block its way to the Paradise which is all that matters.

What's stopping a Muslim Cleric giving the would-be suicide bombers special prayer to absolve them of any wrong doing if they come in contact with the pig fat?

Cleo, of course you are right, the bomber does not care about the JEws he is trying to kill.
But I was that Orthodox Jews have some real 'pig' issues as well since they consider it to be an unclean animal.

Grammatron: You are right. I am not so familiar with their practices though and I don't know if such prayers are common. There is no doubt that the will find a way.
Crossbow: I didn't worded well my previous post. The concept is that muslims find pigs so repulsive that they won't even attempt to do such a thing if they risk to get in contact with it. Pork is not kosher for the Jews but just for the joy of the argument I will mention that in a bus you don't really know how many passengers keep the laws of kashrut.

Frank Zappa suggested aerosol pork grenades a decade and a half ago.
It wouldn't matter so much to Jews. First of all, there isn't a clear notion of Heaven in traditional Judaism, and such issues that have seeped in from other traditions don't involve pork fat. Second, traditional interpretation is that Jews can eat treyf if they're starving, but they're not allowed to smack their lips. And they're only unclean until sundown, anyway.
It should, however, be a good defensive measure for the English to continue to use emulsified pork fat to make "ice cream." Somebody on an English bus might just be scarfing down a cone. I'm not too sure about the contents of that 99 Flake, either.

Where would all this ' pig lard ' come from ?
Doesn't seem like there would be a very good supply in the Middle East ?
I know... Where there's a will, there's a way...

One interesting thing about the religious requirements in Koran is that quite many of them are of the form: "don't do X, but if you for some reason absolutely have to do X even if you don't want to, then it is not counted as a sin".
I don't have exact quotes available right now as I'm away from my library and using a rather poor Internet connection.
