By that I mean he seems to be flying slightly under the woo-woo detection radar; I can't seem to find much in the way of criticising him. Take a look at his belief that he is a reincarnation of Edgar Cayce:

Utter loon.

Beyond a belief that he's a reincarnation of Edgar Cayce, that he knows the future, and that he's one of the wisest and most knowledgeable men of our generation...

...exactly what makes you say he's woo, or a loon?

Did you find much in the way of people taking him seriously? If not, then criticism is somewhat redundant. What's the point in dragging something out from under a rock and waving it in front of people while telling them it's not worth looking at?

Just look at his youtube vids (to mention just one outlet,) they get quite a bit of attention. It's just I haven't found much in the way of critical thinking with regards to his views.

If he wants to pretend that he's the reincarnation of a man who was convicted of a fraudulent criminal offence and who has been proven wrong on pretty much every level, thats fine by me
Good luck to him
:D

People looking at his videos on youtube isn't evidence of anyone taking him seriously. After all, you just told me to do it.

Lol, yeah but he won't tell you that! It does niggle me though when I hear him use scienctific terminology to shoehorn his whacked out views into gullible minds.

I appreciate the advice, thank you:) Although being new to skepticism I prehaps don't fully understand the rules;) This is a man who is peddling psuedoscience and making a living out of people desperately after easy answers, for which he gladly supplies. Surely that is something to be annoyed about maybe, and to possibly take the p*** out off.

Do not be fooled by people selling amulets. Only Teh Stick has true magic powers. It was brought to us on UFOs from beyond the boundaries of what we call nature.

Are you saying, then, that it is much better to expose the foolishness of his beliefs after his spot on Larry King and one-hour special on A&E?

Instead of asking the OP what he found, what did you find? According to my search on Google, he's in Wikipedia. His Facebook fan page has over 4,700 likes on it. A search for David Wilcock Ascension shows over 40,000 hits. He has a book published (2004), and it has 35 reviews on Amazon. Just to put it in perspective, Mr. Randi's book "Flim Flam" has 80 reviews, and it has been on the market for 22 years longer.

I hope that one day I have sufficient experience in this forum and enough of a posting history that I too will be able to determine what are suitable topics for discussion.

What? He beats RANDI???

OMG!

No, really, what does that mean to you?

Do you think the larger part of Humanity doesn't believe in this sort of flapdoodle?

Who in hell wants to read a book of facts from some old wet blanket spoilsport party pooper like Randi when one can bask in the mellow, self-satisfying certainty of "The Secret?"

Randi didn't write his book to milk idiots. Most people are idiots. Idiots like to get milked.

I was answering the question, "Did you find much in the way of people taking him seriously?" I answered that question by pointing out that he seemed to have some level of success with his book selling on Amazon. I offered Mr. Randi's book for comparison.

What did you think I was doing?

We all need a good laugh now and again.
