Since there are several Germans active in this forum: German public-law TV station ZDF will air a 2-part documantation today and next week (August 24 and 31, at 8:15pm). Title: Der 11. September - die wahre Geschichte" ("The 11th of september - the true story")

Here is a trailer on spiegel.de: http://www.spiegel.de/video/video-1080182.html

If the trailer is a good guide, the docu seems to use Lawrence Wright's "Looming Tower" much and also interviews Michael Scheuer, writer of "Imperial Hubris".

Not sure if there is a live stream somewhere on www.zdf.de

I can already see the "HIT PIECE!" articles on the German tard pages. I doubt there will be a live stream of this, or that it will be in the Mediathek (online archive).

He has already seen it:

Knopp? No, thanks. It really angers me that TVless me has to pay for stuff like that again with the Rundfunkgebührenreform.

Hehe

It shall be interesting how many errors and imprecisions I will find, given my by now fairly substantial knowledge of details about 9/11. I have often found that whenever I am very knowledgeable about a topic (because I have studied it, or because it was about me or events I participated in), the presentation in the media is sloppy and sometimes outright wrong. Down to such things as misspelling my name and misrepresenting what I said in an interview. When my gospel choir had concerts, it is not uncommon that a local reporter could not even correctly type the titles of songs from her program sheet. The only sure way to place correct information in the media is by giving them the full material in a copy&paste-friendly format. :D

I was TVless myself until about the beginning of the year. I find it hard to watch documentaries on TV these days, unless I do so for mere entertainment. I have come to value the "Pause" button on internet videos, so I can stop and do a quick fact check on what was just said.
It took me about 10 minutes to watch the 87 seconds trailer this morning, looking up the persons mentioned on Wikipedia, for example.

Michael Scheuer, writer of "Imperial Hubris".

Read "Imperial Hubris"? Scheuer goes into great detail about the motives behind AQ.

I think this (http://videos.arte.tv/de/videos/amerikas_alptraum_der_11_september_2001-3372340.html) is the docu. No earthshattering news in pt. 1, especially if you know Lawrence´s book, but solid, well-sourced info, as far as I can tell.
Pt. 2 is more about telling subjective stories.

I have often found that whenever I am very knowledgeable about a topic (because I have studied it, or because it was about me or events I participated in), the presentation in the media is sloppy and sometimes outright wrong.

I can confirm this especially with respect to pseudo-journalists like Bröckers.
