From the AP and KCCI: (http://www.theiowachannel.com/news/2014345/detail.html)More than two-thirds of adult Americans believe in hell, but only 1 percent expect to go there.

...

More than one-fourth of those surveyed said they believe in reincarnation, and over half said they believe in ghosts.A more revealing question would have asked: what percentage of all people do you believe are going to heaven? It's just a guess, but I suspect that a lot of people think that most people other than themselves are destined for hellfire.

Does anybody have or know of any facts on figures on which country is mostly religious etc and how many religions are worshipped per country?

Heaven must be really crowded by now.

I'm a Canuck. How does this affect me?

Pie,

Try adherents.com (http://www.adherents.com/) .It doesn't make any direct comparisons between countries though so you might have to put some effort in! :)

Of the people I know, they generally think that most people will go to Heaven. Considering that 2/3 of the world isn't Christian, I'm not sure how they reconcile that with their belief that all non-Christians will go to Hell. Nonetheless, most people I know believe that the majority of people will go to Heaven.

After this weekend, I would like to add to the words of Jean-Paul Sartre,

"Hell is other people's children."

Hell - when I used to commute 3 hours or more for work each day.

Heaven - I moved here in 1995.

Personally I'll take that poll with a VERY small grain of salt.
Most people are superstitious wherever one travels so it's just one more woo-woo belief in a world cluttered with such.
