Theres an artlice in Parade about current dictators. I found one theing odd. They mentioned how China has 4000 executions a year, most in the word. Considering Chinas pupulation size, is 4000 that high a number?

When I think "Chinese executioner", why do the words "job security" come to mind?

Number of executions in the China over their population:

4 000 / 1 260 000 000 = 3.17460317 × 10 to the -06


Number of executions in the US in 2002 over population in 2004 (couldn't find population in 2002):
71 / 292,645,743 = 2.42614156 × 10 to the -07

Of course this isn't saying much since it isn't a comparison based on crime rates.
