I caught a bit of one of his shows. Anybody watch him?

I’ve seen every episode. He is hilarious. His first skit on his first show was defining of the series. Sadly, although he has been great, he has never lived up to that very first skit. It was about a blind black guy who was a huge influence in the KKK community. He did not know he was black!

I remember seeing a cut of a skit on a promo where 3 black guys are sorta leaning on their spears, shooting the bull (in africa, shoulda said that) and one says "hey, look, there's a ship with a bunh of white dudes on it" and Chappelle saiys "I'll just go down and see what they want".

I have no idea how it ended up but it had me rolling.

I ask cuz the DVD of the first season comes out soon.

His is the funniest skit comedy show on TV. Best skits:

The blind-black KKK leader. When he whips off his hood and starts yelling "White power!" to a room full of white people, and then one of the KKK guys heads explodes, I nearly died.

The Real World parody where they stick one white guy in with a bunch of insane black people instead of the other way round. Highlight: One of the girls stabbing the white guys dad for looking at her wrong.

A recent sketch where Dave refuted the notion that white people can't dance. His theory was that different races just liked different instruments and that white people's favorite instrument was the electric guitar. So he takes John Mayer (is that who it was?) to different places where white people congregate and play guitar. Fave part: In the fancy restaurant when Dave yells "Play the fight riff! The fight riff!" and all the white people start moshing and beating the crap out of each other.

The show is a riot.

I liked the one where the racial groups divided up the racially mixed celebrities in a mock sports draft. The blacks chose Tiger Woods. He goes to the podium and starts trying to talk like an African American. Dave, as commentator, says something like, "Good thing he's happy to be black; he just lost all his endorsements. Tough Luck, N-. There's always FUBU." The whites take, I think, Colin Powell. The Jews take Lenny Kravitz. The Aisians take the Wu Tang Clan.

The Samuel Jackson Beer commercial was great, with a dead-on impersonation.

Dave Chapelle is hilarious. I highly recommend. I loved that racial draft bit. That was great. And the bit about stuff being cooler in slo-mo (except for taking a s**t, of course :D) was great. Ooh, and that Real World thing was so, so funny. Sigh. Yay for truly funny skit shows.

I like his show for the skits, and also for the music he has on. I really like some of the hiphopers that he's had on: DeLaSoul, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and others.

It's a great show! The first season is readily available on Kazaa for anyone who is interested.

They just started playing it on Tues nights on the comedy channel here too. Killer funny, d/l some of his stand-up too, if you can.

He was also in a movie Undercover Brother, he doesn't play the lead, but he has a great role as a conspiracy type guy who is always tokin'.

I can't believe the second season is out, looks like I have some work to do...
