The US has ordered 60,000 more troops (http://www.cnn.com/2003/WORLD/meast/03/03/sprj.irq.main/index.html) to the Persian Gulf, bringing the totals to 315,000 lol.
Are we taking out Iraq...or the entire middle east LOL. I guess the terrorists should have left us alone on 9/11. What is happening now is a lesson in protecting freedom. Any country that messes with the US anymore is getting taken out. Hostile states take notice because the US isn't taking anymore sh#t.
Loyal men are stepping up now, as they have before in US history, and the reckoning is in progress.

My guess is we will move the saudi base to the new iraq after the conquest. We want this to be as quick and clean as panama. My guess is bagdad will actually be won by special forces like panama was. Those troops will come in handy for providing some degree of law and order after Saddam has fallen. Remember how large Iraq is. We will also have a large portion of troops working on infrastructure, delivering food, handing out medical supplies.
There will probably be a huge show of force however since Iran is right next door. If we setup a large base in the new Iraq, my guess is we will not have to go to war with Iran to get them to turn over hezbollah and to stop funneling money and weapons to the PLO.
Basically, we kill many birds with one stone. We are also prepared to deploy to North Korea faster since we have such a large staging area. North Korea could spark a war at any time.
I suggest anyone worred about this being another vietnam and how we will handle the invasion should read the account of operation just cause from Shadow Warriors by Tom Clancy et al. This book was a real eye opener for me.

That is hilarious! 60,000 more people with a chance to die for Dubya's tantrum. LOL!

I didn't need to read the book. I was a member of the invasion force.

The only thing that could possible go wrong would be for Saddam to have a momentary lapse of extreme insanity from radical insanity and use some form of WMD on US troops.
If that happens, the middle east better cancel Christmas.

Green Berets, Seals, or just a grunt? It seems SOCOMM handled most of the dirty work.

Seals are cherries. How could any masculine male join those pukes is beyond me lol. Army all the way, baby.
We fought at La Commandancia, the heaviest fighting of the war. Task Force Bayonet--grunts.

"The lead battalion pushing through with their APCs instantly came under very heavy fire from windows, ledges, and rooftops, and from civilian vehicles sandbagged as fighting positions. For the next two hours, heavy fighting continued. By 3:00 AM, the Comandancia was on fire, with smoke so thick the Sheridans could not see their targets, but the 193rd had formed a cordon around the compound and begun operations to clear each building." -from Shadow Warriors
Sounds like it was fun.

It comes back to me some nights, especially in the spring when the rain and air is warmer. They tried to kill us from the tops of the buildings, on the ground, in doorways, windows, from high-rise apartment buildings. It was a battle I will never forget.

Yes. Now I see why you hate SEALs so much. They had to do a night dive and put some explosives on some ship hulls while you were in the middle of hell.
Not to mention that awful movie that made them look like supermen.

Yes, it was hell. That is why they sent the 5th ID in. In hell, there is only screams. It is hard to make movies that only have screams for dialogue.

You sign up and you have a chance to die. People that signed up died for Clinton's attempt to cover up an adulterous blow job.
I'd rather die for Bush's views than clinton's cock

And have you ever wondered, why did you have to put your life at risk kicking out a homicidal dictator. (Hint: maybe the US put him there in the first place.)

JK Jeli,
You are getting confused. Iraq played no part in 9/11. As a keen political observer you will be aware of Al Queda’s contempt for Saddam and his regime.
The reason that America has given for the Iraq situation is that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction, which they could sell to (or have stolen by) terrorists.
Iraq has not ’messed’ as you put it with America. If having weapons of mass destruction is a crime, where is the consistency? The UK has lots of weapons of mass destruction and we have a long history of selling them to undesirables. Are we next, if not who is ?

Iraq was directly involved in 9/11 in a variety of levels.

The US doesn't have psychic powers. The US didn't know Noriega was going to turn into a drug dealing crack-head thug. Noriega was taken out because he was a thug.
The only thing US troops felt as they were taking him and his troops out was the recoil of their M-16's.

You aren't going to convince anyone. People aren't motivated enough to read about the real Noriega. Most people know two things about Noriega, "something to do with drugs" and "maybe we put him there".
Noriega was a unique sicko. I learned more about him from Shadow Warriors than I ever gleened from the press.
