More Weirdness On Mars

Take a look at some of the different images available in that official press release. A closer look at Martian rocks and soil is showing us some very, very exciting stuff.

Most interesting are these things, seen in a microscopic image:

Those little spheres. What are they? Nobody knows yet...but you can be sure they're working their heads off trying to find out.

Ah. At last! Proof that life on Earth originated on Mars. Somehow, these tiny, microscopic spores managed to dislodge themselves and drift upward into space, across the 50 or so miles of space to Earth, and land just in time for a lightning bolt to hit them and start this whole mess.

I'm perplexed. I don't see anything spherical in that picture.
I have to admit, I would find it very hard to identify most terrestrial rock types from photos of the quality I see on the NASA site.

Considering that the photos are of the microscopic level, I think many, many people would have similar difficulty.

Small spheres are apparently very common on Mars. Earlier pictures have shown many more. A couple of related articles:

I would imagine they are similar to those found on the moon...

Mind you If you look closely at this image you may see (As I have for the first time) signs of intelligent life. You may have to squint but, just visible are what look like the letters "A" and "D". If anyone else can see this bizarre phenomenon would they let me know?

The boule are hard, made of steel and are chromium plated with an average weight of approximately 650 grams.
