I thiught that was the norm. About ten years ago I had a friend who couldn't use a scholarship because she was going to Harvard Divinity School.

Hmm. For once I disagree with a separation issue. Is the scholarship giving preferential treatment to any particular religion, or preferring religion over nonreligion? It doesn't sound like it. They're just giving the money to an individual; what he chooses to study is up to him. If he chooses to study religion, well, isn't that just freedom of religion in action?

I bet a lot of people on welfare go to a church and put something in the offering plate. How is that any different? Should those people have their benefits withdrawn (the illogic of giving money away when you don't have enough to support yourself aside)?

I agree with the ruling. How is the state paying for aguy to become a priest NOT a violation of chutch state.

Studying religion and becoming a religious preacher are 2 difft thing. These f'n religious types want things both way. You cant tax them cause theyre religions, but its ok to give them tax money to be religious???

Its one thing to give the church shelter tax funds to feed the homeless, its another thing to use those tax funds to teach bible class to the homeless.

Hey I want to be a professional black jack player. Howz about a scholorship to pay my way to Vegas.
