Rick Adams has a restaurant there. Coincidence?
I have to admit, I knew about the LA thing, but was asked not to say anything. :)

I'm originally from that area, and I'm considering moving back when the economy gets turned around. That's all I'm allowed to say.

Why not?

Beats me. Why not Wichita or Fargo or Denver?
LA makes sense. That's where the president of the organization is.

Easier access to the NWO facilities in and around DC.

The Falls Church location is not really a JREF office for people to visit. Just the location where back office business operations like accounting and payroll are conducted. Essentially these operations are being outsourced to external service providers.
It isn't much of a surprise that the industry of providing business services to national nonprofits is centered in the D.C. area.

I also want to chime in and say that the JREF plans to eventually move all of its business operations to L.A., once the new office is completely set up there, which we anticipate will happen in 2011. Falls Church is a temporary measure because the only staff currently in Ft. Lauderdale is Randi and his assistant.

LA is nice. Virginia is for lovers (or so they say)

Two questions:
Are we still doing the monthly Wednesday night discussion group at the JREF in Ft. Lauderdale this week (and others)?
Is Randi moving to Los Angeles?

My understanding is that the Wednesday meetings are continuing.

Is Randi moving to Los Angeles?
No
ETA: My question was answered at Skepticon III. Nothing to see here, move along.

And what is the answer?
Basically what DJ said - the JREF is moving to LA. Randi is staying in Florida. The thing in Falls Church is temporary, they are basically being loaned the use of a couple of employees of a company there.

Will JREF be accepting resumés?

Will JREF be accepting resumés?
I don't see why not.
You'll probably have better luck calling or emailing DJ than waiting for a reply here.

Okay, not nearly as hot as Sally Fairfax, who was a match for Jaquelin Smith.

The DC area is the place for the national organization of national organizations has its headquarters.
In most cases it is little more than a PO Box.
Falls Church is a fun place. There are two of them. There is the politically bounded Falls Church and then there is the Post Office Falls Church. Back when I lived there the latter was about four times larger than the former.

Being a former denizen of Northern VA, there is more to the area of interest than Falls Church. There are in fact roads, and a metro, that allow access to a very decent part of the country.
Moving JREF to LA? OK, call if you need any assistance after the next earthquake ... which is a when, not if, issue in that part of the country.
