I've been given a little project at work to source computer games for 11 year olds to help with maths skills, particularly multiplication tables.

Not having any contact with kids of any age or any familiarity with computer games, I am somewhat stymied. Can any of the educators/parents here make recommendations?

There's this. I don't know if it's any good, I've never played it. -ylMEkDXYDE

It's pretty sad when the state of education software hasn't changed much in 20 years.

*sigh*

I still think the ones I learned on are pretty great.

Math castle (http://archives.math.utk.edu/software/msdos/k-12/castle14/.html) and the Super Solvers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Learning_Company#Super_Solvers_series) series.

Ahh, this takes me back. I used to love playing Treasure Mountain, Treasure Cove, and Gizmos & Gadgets on my dad's 386. I also had a couple Math Blaster (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Math_Blaster) games.

Internet4ClassRooms (http://www.internet4classrooms.com/) look at the Math skill builders for 4th grade.
Mathplayground (http://www.mathplayground.com/games.html) is good.
ThatQuiz (http://www.thatquiz.org/) is good.
Math magig (http://www.coolmath4kids.com/"}CoolMath4Kids[/url] is good.
FunBrain Math Arcade is allright.
[url="http://resources.oswego.org/games/mathmagician/cathymath.html) is good.

The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives (http://nlvm.usu.edu/en/nav/vlibrary.html) is SUPPER COOL!

I will check when I get to work on Monday, I am a lab aide after all.
