CLEARWATER -- Office building windows that thousands of visitors believed bore the 60-foot tall image of the Virgin Mary were discovered shattered Monday, possibly by vandals armed with a slingshot, police said.

The three top panes depicting what appeared to be the Virgin Mary's veiled head were destroyed, with just shards of glass remaining in the window frames. The damage was discovered Monday morning, and it likely was done overnight.

Wow, that's cold.

I always thought it looked more like an Ancient Astronaut than Mary.

The church must really be upset, the cost of replacing the window and all that lost revenue from the gullible. Plus the guy across the street at the "My Parents Saw The Virgin Mary And All I Got Was This Lousy T-Shirt" stand has all that unsold stock to get rid of.

The vandalism is sad and uncalled for, but anyone who would take that window as a sign from god is mentally blind, and brainwashed.
