From now until Jan 15, 2011, we'll give you a $50 per person on-board credit to anyone booking our Egypt cruise at http://www.skeptours.com/egypt. This offer is unlimited, and the money can be used for ANY on-board expense including booze, spa services, or yes, even porn on the TV. (They have that now.)

Also, guaranteed booking for Jamaica ends on Dec. 31! If you're thinking of coming, please book by then to make sure you get the best price. After that date, space may be available, but we can't guarantee the price.

Full information at http://www.skeptours.com, or drop me a line at jeff@skeptours.com

Oooo! That $50.00 also means you can effectively get sodas for free!

I will probably book soon, then. Gotta put in one last effort to convince one of several folks to be my roomate...

Jamaica, people. C'mon, you know you wanna go.Jamica is cool, mon! But, I'm afraid Egypt is a higher priority for me to visit, right now.

Jamaica is going to be very cool, but Egypt is Egypt. :) My suggestion, of course, is to do both.

Bah! Why does Egypt have that Jamaica doesn't?

Really really really old stuff. Same with Jerusalem. It's just totally awesome to me to think about seeing stuff that is truly OLD.

Plus, I've been to the Caribbean. I only have so many travels I'll ever get to do, the more different places it can include, the better.

And, c'mon... EGYPT!!

OH MAN!

Jamaica may be very cool (never been there), but Egypt is definitely very hot.

Hmm... Egypt. Any skepchick willing to share a room? I'm still thinking this through, though, but I promise a definite position in the 1st week of 2011. :)

I'm SOOO there. I'll register in early January. Definitely going, and GG will be my roommate!

Come on, folks. JERUSALEM, among skeptics and atheists? If you ever go there, could you ever be with better company? No, you couldn't! Can't wait!

I'll be calling Jeff/Joe this week to sign up for Egypt and it looks like I'll also need a roomate... I'm usually a loner but there is no way I can afford the single supplement for this one.

Anyone interested?

For those going on one (or both) of the cruises...just a random plug for giving a talk. I gave my first public skeptics talk at Skepchicamp in Chicago last winter...all volunteers, no lofty expectations. That led to doing another volunteer talk...then getting asked to be on a couple of different conference panels and talking on a couple of podcasts. And now I've been asked to do another talk for an outside group that isn't going to be an entirely 'like-minded' audience. If not for the experience of having done that sort of public speaking first among new friends, I doubt that I'd ever have pushed myself to take these other opportunities. So wish me luck at my March speaking engagement, and thanks, skeptics, for getting me there :). If you want to give a talk, you'll find few more supportive audiences than on a skeptics cruise.

I, for one, will be speaking about Archaeology and the Book of Mormon.

Heck, you gave a talk on a cruise and got yourself a boyfriend for the effort.

See, everyone, if you want a boyfriend, give a talk.

OK, so our group has expired for the Jamaica trip. All this means is that the pricing *could* go up between now and sailing. If you'd still like to go, you can.

Still another week to take advantage of the Egypt $50 offer!

While I equate cruises of any kind (except maybe bare boat sailing in the Caribbean) with having to undergo a root canal without anesthesia, I understand several hawt skepchicks (you know who you are) will be doing the Egypt cruise. So I shall sign up for that one.
