After listening to the book on tape version of Sue Grafton's Q is for Quarry, I checked out the story of the murder that Ms. Grafton based the tale on. (http://www.sbsheriff.org/mw/janedoe.html)

I don't know much more than what I heard on the tape, but you might want to look at it. If you have information, pass it on, please.
