Not sure why I was the only one invited to the Skepchick party, but we had a fine time nonetheless.

I still don't understand why they didn't go with "TAM 9 from Outer Space." Anyway, I love the catch phrase coming out of TAM 9: Read a Novella!

I liked when Dicon accidentally took a large dose of hallucinogenics and thought he was at a Skepchick party. I think everyone has a copy of the video of him gyrating nekkid next to a trash can at the Del Mar.

I thought it was mean how he didn't offer to share.

I remember how proud we were when you came out. ;)
I guess we all had different reactions to Dicon's nekkid dance. I'm just glad I was able to document the whole thing on the high-speed digicam. Turns out there are exceptions to the "everything looks better in slow-motion" axiom.
ETA: Gouge that out, dasmiller!

Well you know, after you do something seven years in a row it kind of becomes expected of you.

I still don't think Banachek had really thought things through when he tried to demonstrate the famous Houdini moment by punching Randi in the stomach.

The punching happened at the reception on Thursday night. Most people were gathered around the cheese trays so I don't think many saw it happen.

You weren't at the reception for most of it. You were sneaking into Skepchick's event organizing system, that night, to stick your name on the list of their party attendees.
Of course, you accidentally deleted everyone who else on the list, in the process, but that's a different story.
I know this because.... well, nevermind how I know it. I just do! Errrm.. Someone who was monitoring the system told me about it, yes.

I'm glad the JREF was able to get the Dead Kennedys back together. But did they really have to perform during the reception?

I can't believe that I brought 1000 "First TAMmer" buttons and they all were snapped up in five minutes! There couldn't have been that many newbies there.

I'd always meant to have a jacket completely covered with buttons with some obscure slogan, so when I noticed a table that was giving away just that sort of button (something about being Tammy's first?), I grabbed several hundred while nobody was looking.
This is going to look great at the next costume party.

Well, it's better than putting all your beer on the roof, like she did at TAM 11!

Ah yes, TAM 11. Otherwise known as "The final TAM". You know, because of "the incident".

We will now all pause for a moment of silence.
ETA: okay, that's about enough silence.

No, there will have been a TAM12. It will just have taken a few years for the incident to pass.

Maybe.
I'd post more details for those who didn't attend, but Hutch still posts here, and I wouldn't want it to be construed as a personal attack. He can defend his behavior if he wishes to.

Yeah, but we may have to name it something else. Just like there's no Titanic II, or Hindenburg II, or Pauly Shore Junior . . .
ETA: but then, again, there was a World War II . . .

I dunno. I think people will have gotten over it enough to retain the name.

Hopefully JREF will make enough from it to offset some of the associated legal costs . . .

Every time I think that there's a movie idea that's so bad that even SyFy wouldn't produce it . . . <sigh>
