So I gathered some resolve last night and went to a meeting of the CNY (Central New York) Skeptics. I am usually not a very social person, and I typically don't seek out human interaction, but last night I decided to give it a try.
The lecture was about the Willow Biomass Project that is being run in New York state by SUNY ESF. The purpose of the project is to use willow (not the tree) as a renewable energy source. Since I am quite interested in environmental issues, this was good enough reason for me to throw myself into a new environment.
The group asked a lot of questions, and were given a lot of answers by Timothy Volk, the speaker. He did a good job selling his project, though he was mostly there to inform.
After that five of us, including Lisa, went to Denny's and talked till eleven. It was definitely a good time.
So all of you other CNY skeptics should give it a try.
