Whilst reading up on the history of France in Algeria, I came across this site (http://www.ahtg.net/TpA/hisalger.html) which read as a fairly reasonable attempt to explain a piece of history.

However, towards the bottom it links on to this page (http://www.ahtg.net/TpA/ww3.html) about the Third World War which, apparently:

was a conflict that was global in its effects despite the brief seven months of warfare. No part of the world was left unscathed, not even neutral countries or continents; the conflict bears the unique distinction of having caused, both directly and indirectly, deaths and injuries in every country in the world, though casualties vary enormously from the 109 dead of Kerguelen to the almost one billion dead in China. A conflict that literally destroyed entire countries, it left its survivors to rebuild the world as best they could.

Apparently it all began in 1982.

Did I miss a meeting or something?

Don't you ever go up to the home page to see what you are looking at?

This web site is the "Alternative History Travel Guides".

Presumably it consists of hypothetical alternative histories.

err.. I thought you said you weren't into that sort of thing?

;) :)

Yeah, I did go look when things started to get weird.

It was just that, initially, I linked directly to the Algeria page which, as I said, was fairly reasonable. It wasn't until I got to the WW3 link that I did a "double-take".

Glad I didn't miss the war! Of course what really gave it away was the fact that the US had a woman for a president! :p
