Son Kills Dad During Gun Safety Demonstration (http://www.thewmurchannel.com/news/2023869/detail.html)

LAKEWOOD, Colo. -- A lesson in gun safety between a father and son went terribly wrong Wednesday afternoon in Colorado.

Investigators said the 36-year-old father was attempting to teach his 13-year-old son gun safety and how to deal with an intruder. Police believe the teenager was holding the gun when it discharged, striking his father in the head.

Not really. The offspring already exists.

The father won't be producing more, and the son has learned something that he will teach to his offspring.

Namely, "always assume every gun is loaded". Its the first rule of firearm safety. Every Hunter Safety or Concealed Carry class teaches it. Its stated on tons of internet sites. Its in the manual of just about every gun sold.

The second rule of safety is "don't point a gun at anything you don't intend to destroy". I would say he learned this lesson too.

Poor kid. He'll have a hard time coping with that.
Its as ironic as the fact that a guy was making a video about nightclub safety at the Rhode Island disaster.

I'm reminded of a gun "accident" about a month ago where a father was teaching his son gun safety. He explained that an unloaded firearm was perfectly safe and put the gun to his head and pulled the trigger.

Not only was what he did stupid and negligent of every common sense and written rule of gun safety, now his son has to live with the memory of his father blowing his brains out right in front of him. I only wish I could reanimate that moron and kick his ass for letting his machismo get in the way of safety and traumatizing his son for life.

The son of the man in this article will have to live his life with the trauma of shooting of his own dad. It makes me retch to think was due to complete negligence and was completely preventable. Once again I wish you could reanimate this person for a good ass whipping.

Unfortunately, I can't reanimate them. I can't erase their sons' memories. And with a real pain inside I realize this won't be last gun "accident" this year.
