I'm unsure if he knew that the site was satiric or not. It's not obvious to me reading the commentary at least. On the bottom of the page there is a link that explains it was a joke and noone ever thought that this clip was genuine.

Actually, there are people who think the clip was genuine. (See: http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/moontruth.asp)

Its not that people believe that this was actually a 'faked' moon landing attempt, but some thought it might be a rehursal for the real landings.
