Upset Dad Kills Innocent Teen in Florida (http://abcnews.go.com/wire/US/ap20030306_1454.html)
A man upset that his son was being bullied fired several shots into a crowd of teenagers, killing a 14-year-old bystander, police said.
Tyron Debaron Williams shot Jabbard Anthony in the chest just after 9 p.m. Wednesday, police spokeswoman Katie Hughes said Thursday. The boy died at Tampa General Hospital.

But I'm sure the guns helped...

I wonder if anyone would get the point if these "idiot with a gun" posts were each countered with a "gun owner defends self" post?
Probably not.

Of course not—that would be anecdotal evidence! What's the matter with you??? ;)

Hey, great idea. No one's started a pro-guns thread for at least 20 minutes...

I said nothing about starting any threads.
"Probably not" was clearly generous on my part.

Jeez, what I'm getting is a nauseating feeling that there's a lot of senseless violence going on. Other than the possibility of being on the spot with a gun, and the deterrent effect of increased criminal penalties (both issues having been thoroughly debated already), any thoughts on how to address the root causes of this insane violent rage people seem to be having?

Whereas two anti-gun threads were started within that time. What is this, argumentum ad threadcount?
Argue properly, people.

I thought about doing this for awhile. But I would probably get kicked for spamming the board. I could fill a thread with several thousand documented incidents.
