The largest problem with the Bush admin "principled stand" on Dr. Rice doing public testimony before congress is the fact that the principle of seperation of powers is so sufficiently trashed that its inconsistent to start worrying about it now.
If the Bush admin really cares about seperation of powers:
stop submitting a budget yearly, thats congresses job
stop trying to steer the domestic agenda, period
get an official declaration of war against the bin laden network
shut up about gay marriage
If you really care about seperation of powers, you have to support it when it doesn't benefit you. Unfortunately, a presidential candidate cannot get elected if they promise to only conduct foreign affairs and run the military.
