Report: NBC Giving Donald Trump A Big Raise (http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2011/06/report_nbc_giving_donald_trump_a_big_raise.php?ref =fpc)

The deal will apparently net Burnett and Trump a total of around $160 million, and Trump will personally take in $65 million a year.

I know this probably sounds like a liberal cliche, but what does it say about America when a reality show star makes more than 100 times what the president makes? For being a loud-mouthed ignoramus. I've never seen a single episode of "The Celebrity Apprentice."

Care to guess what sort of countries usually have their president among their best-paid individuals?

Good point, but my lament was more about how much The Donald makes than how much Obama makes. Oh, well. It's not my money, so I suppose I shouldn't care. It still galls me though.

NBC is a 4th place network and, sad to say, The Celebrity Apprentice is about the only primetime show they've got that generates any audience-attracting buzz. They can't even make their Thursday night sitcom lineup work well despite most of them being good shows.

Honestly, people who run for POTUS don't do it for the money. The closest comparable job I can think of is CEO of a fortune 500 company, and those guys make much more than the POTUS in terms of salary.

I would claim that there are enough other perks to being POTUS to attract qualified candidates, but I have been through too many elections cycles to believe that a fraction of those that run for POTUS are remotely qualified.

But wait a second, isn't NBC the "network of godless progressives"?
