On court tv forums, there actually is a Raelian there defending his "religion". Of course, I'm there to tear down his silly beliefs. It's fun making fun of someone other than the typical believer of the big 3 religions.

Theirs is no more or less silly than any other religious belief system.

Leave it to the Christians; they're far better at the ad-hominem-as-argument and such.

If you need material, go see what the fundy Christians say about them. Simply omit the portions where they argue "only Jesus... blah-blah-blah".

The court-tv people seem to just dismiss it as a harmless and silly thing. It might be, but I don't see any cult as harmless.

Really? Most cult researchers, including greats such as Benjamin Zablocki would consider most cults to be short lived harmless affairs.

Big-time cults that make news, like the scientologists, raelians, the Family (creepy name eh?) and the like, however, I agree are dangerous.

I haven't heard any dirt on the raelians. Are they any more decent than scientologists, or have I simply not been looking hard enough?

Once we can clone exact replicas of ourselves, the next step will be to transfer our memories and personality into our newly cloned brains, which will allow us to truly live forever. Since we will be able to remember all our past, we will be able to accumulate knowledge ad infinitum.

I find the concept of desiring to clone children so you can later erase their brains and replace them with your own somewhat horrific. I don't know why these people get such good press.

Don't bother arguing against him for yourself, that's too easy. Sic the Rapture Ready guys on him, then just sit back and watch the logical fallacies fly.

There's a difference between raising a brainless body and erasing a brain.
