From Merriam-Webster Distionary:

Main Entry: pro·tec·tion

Pronunciation: pr&-'tek-sh&n

Function: noun

4 b : money extorted by racketeers posing as a protective association

This is what the Bush Protection Racket is. They promise that you won't get hurt as long as you cough up your dough, and meekly acquiesce to the theft of your rights. They are no different than the Mafia goon who comes around every week to collect his $100 from the mom-and-pop stores so they won't get their windows smashed and their storefronts burned.

Feel free to attempt explanation of how we are safer now that Saddam Hussein is gone, and our soldiers have to serve as sitting ducks in a vain effort to prevent Iraq from crumbling into civil war and Islamic theocracy.

What exactly are you talking about? I might agree with you, but need clarification. Thanks.

I am referring to the fear that the Bush Protection racket instills in U.S. citizens. The message is: Cough up your tax money for a bigger military and a vague and pointless war, and we'll keep you safe from harm. Vote for Kerry, and soon A-rabs will be busting down your door and killing you and raping your wife and daughters. You can only protect yourself by forking over your dough, your rights, and your vote.

Why would Bush want us to vote for Kerry?
