Live on British TV this morning, Leigh Catherine has accepted the million dollar challenge.

Let's get some publicity for this, as when she fails (which she will) people need to hear about it.

The show she was on this morning here in Britain: This Morning

I can't post links :(

My google-fu didn't turn anything up. And her name mainly gave me references to her psychic business in directories. She's just attention seeking to drum up trade.

Has she contacted JREF prior to making this announcement?

Its not a bad watch actually - the skeptic makes a good case and Leigh flounders quite a bit.

I believe I have a much better chance of winning the million dollars than Leigh Catherine does.

My prediction: Leigh Catherine will never apply for the challenge. Through a little known technique used by psychics called hand-waving, she will either deny the money exists, or that the challenge is rigged, or that Randi is a charlatan, or any combination of the above coupled with other lame excuses.

Just like Sylvia Browne, she'll run from the JREF as fast as she can.

Just like sylvia browne. (Just her name makes me shudder)

It would be funny if it wasn't so true. I can't stand this woman, she's the worst of the lot in my view. If only the Million Dollar Challenge was compulsory for all self-proclaimed psychics!! There wouldn't be any out there then :D

Thanks snuffkin. I am American I have never heard of Paul Zenon but he was well spoken, rational and pretty much awesome.

I particularly liked how uncomfortable the "psychic" looked as Paul read out those Barnum statements and did a quick demonstration of cold reading...

She seemed very confident re the challenge and it seems ITV are going to fund the trip over. She likes the States, so it seems it will probably happen.
Perhaps she genuinely believes she has the power to talk to the dead, but is deluded, and unwittingly uses a version of her own type of reading, and her clients respond in the same way as a fake cold reader.

Excuse me, but may I suggest that half the people here go and apply for the MDC themselves if they are going to talk BS that way?

Seriously... I cannot read her tweeter page without continously banging my head against the screen for sheer stupidity and vanity of it.

I suggest either the rest of you are lying or have a supernatural tolerance ability if you claim otherwise. Would you take a million dollar challenge for it? :D

Excuse me too! Are you referring to my post above because if you are, read what I actually said, and not what you think I said. I said perhaps she was "deluded", and I meant just that and nothing else!

I wasn't referring to you...
I'm simply saying I have no idea how anyone can read her tweeter at all (regardless if they believe it or not).

I have just seen this article (Google "Judges see no future for psychic beautician Leigh" and its the first hit) - looks like she applied on Britain's Got Talent but didn't get through the first round... if anyone finds the video of her appearance on Britain's Got Talent, post the link!
Can't believe she's Welsh and from Cardiff - a disgrace to both!!!

Sut mae Dai ac croeso. I know you can't post links yet so I dug this up (http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Judges+see+no+future+for+psychic+beautician+Leigh.-a0160784166) for you.

One act who didn't make it through to the next round of the TV talent show was psychic manicurist Leigh-Catherine Salway, above.

She came on stage to reunite (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/reunite) Piers Morgan (http://encyclopedia.thefreedictionary.com/Piers+Morgan) with a voice from beyond the grave, but instead she was greeted by sceptics.

Miss Salway, 36, of Penylan, who is the daughter of former Cardiff Mayor Freda Salway, said: 'They asked 'so you really believe you can talk to the dead do you?'

'I attempted to give a message to Piers Morgan but they kept interrupting. Obviously they're sceptics.

'I wasn't what they were looking for. My cards were marked before I went on but it's made me more determined.'

Miss Salway was going to read for a member of the audience but was asked to give a message to one of the judges.

She said: 'The spirit who was in touch with me said Piers has had a stomach problem and he said he had just got over food poisoning (http://encyclopedia2.thefreedictionary.com/Food+Poisoning).' That's a brave statement to make and easily verifiable. If she wasn't a real psychic how could she have known he'd had food poisoning? It's not as though she's on twitter. Diolch yn fawr Dean! Stomach problem is so vague and so many people would be able to make it 'fit' for them... its also not as if Piers Morgan isn't in the media/public eye...

At least Welsh rugby is doing us proud!!!

I actually do wonder about that story. She didn't want to do Morgan's reading. She wanted to do an audience member. So what would she have done if that happened? Does she have a plant? Basic cold reading? Or did she assume she'll do the judges in advance?

Totally impossible to pass if you're a fake

I was certainly surprised to hear her say, several times on the This Morning show, without qualification or equivocation, that she'd never heard of cold reading, warm reading, or pre-show work! For someone who's been in the business as long as she has, and who claims to know there are a lot of charlatans out there, and who claims to have caught a charlatan psychic and told Trading Standards about him/her, how could she possibly not know these things? That isn't just being 'economical with the truth'...

She is the type of person that claim they have a gift and they only want to share it,and then have the audacity to go on with "oh and thats going to be 100 bucks for hour btw"...makes me sick to my stomach..

Her talking about charlatans etc..when she by all probabilities very knowingly IS a charlatan?
either that or she is
A.Delusional?
or B.A real psychic(very unlikely/improbable)

"If people didn't want to pay for services..I wouldn't take their money/its not my fault they wanna pay me"..wow..I hope she takes this challenge..in my opinion what an obnoxious woman..

Its sad to see people flock to these kinds of people with their hopes and dreams...a close relative of me is one of these people..my own mother..she swears to these people and always comes with stuff they have said in sessions with the usual "theres no way they could have known THAT" etc..makes me sick..(one time it worked to my advantage was when I was deployed to Afghanistan and she went to one of these people and that person said I would be fine of course, and she slept easier..but still..that person could have said that for free)..

Don't know if this is in the right place, but on Professor Chris French's FB page, someone called Don Phillip has stated that he's taking the Randi Challenge. Should be interesting....:)
