I found this timeline on the history of spiritualism and related matters, and thought that some here might find it interesting to peruse:

I am surpized that it doesn't have any reference at all to the ancient Greeks. Although obviously "colored" the table is interesting.

Thank you for posting it. Yes, thank you. I agree, Cleopatra, there is a decided slant to the table...I think it would be a fun exercise to build a corresponding table with a skeptical view. Some of the entries would be very similar to what is already there...McDougall, for instance...although my reading of his publications at the time puts him squarely in the camp of believing Margery to be a fraud, rather than uncommitted. I am amused that Houdini goes unmentioned (unless I missed it).
Oh, and somebody needs to tell them that their title has an extra apostrophe. "It's" should be "its".
