Senator 'Outraged at Outrage' in Iraq Prison Case (http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=politicsNews&storyID=5109848)
As others condemned the reported abuse of Iraqi prisoners, U.S. Sen. James Inhofe expressed outrage at the outcry over the scandal and took aim at "humanitarian do-gooders" investigating American troops.

This guys a real jesus freak partisan tool. "Outraged over the outrage" as if this wasnt a big story or anthing.
OF course he had no problem making a big deal over the Janet Jackson boob show. Which hurt........ummmm NOBODY! Talk about outrage over nothing.
"The culture of far left America was displayed in a startling way during the Super Bowl's now infamous half-time show, a show brought to us on behalf of the Value-Les Moonves and the pagan temple of Viacom-Babylon."
I wish to compliment the Senator from Georgia, Senator Miller, for his statement and for his outrage over some of the decline in morality which was evidenced by not only by Super Bowl halftime but also by the Supreme Court decision just made in the State of Massachusetts where basically four individuals tried to legalize same-sex marriage. It was not a vote of the people."
Floor Speech (http://inhofe.senate.gov/pressreleases/decency.htm)
Now I wonder how he'll be able to spin some of these new pictures that suposably have homosexual acts of abuse in them??? "Gays are bad, but I must downplay the abuse.........head spinning, does not compute!!!!"

Floor Speech (http://inhofe.senate.gov/pressreleases/decency.htm) So, if I am asked why--with all the pressing problems this Nation faces today--why am I pushing these social issues and taking the Senate's valuable time, I will answer: Because, it is of the highest importance. Yes, there is a deficit to be concerned about in this country, a deficit of decency. And, after all, the intangible deficit of decency is of far greater importance than the more tangible deficit of budget.

". . .It was not a vote of the people. . ."
Would this be a good example of irony, coming from a member of the same congress that's been doing it's level best to overide the "people" and impose it's own version of utopia on us. Or maybe it's satire.

The senator's position is perfectly reasonable. Therefore, I am outraged at your outrage at the outrage over the outrage.
Actually, I consider the senator a bit pinheaded on this issue.

- Inhofe is already a well known chucklehead. God, Guns, & Government type of religious fundie. Nothing he does surprises me much anymore.

Well, I hope the senator does something about these unamerican citizens that fan the flames by saying such things as "abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison were a body blow for all of us." Shame on you, Mr. Rumsfeld for saying such a thing during a time of war. Now we know who doesn't support the troops in Inhofe's opinion. So, Janet Jackson's boob represents the culture of far left America. I'd kinda like to hear someone try to explain that. That would be good for a giggle or two.
But yes, I find the Senator's outrage over the outrage to be absurd. He shows a very limited, two-dimensional box way of thinking. Anything that ain't 100% pro-American just ain't right! It's extremely frustrating dealing with or even just listening to people like that. :nope:

Are you serious? So, during a war, anything is justified? Where would you draw the line? Are you suggesting that because we're fighting this war, that America can do no wrong, and criticizing our actions is unacceptable?

No, quite the contrary. I didn't use a smiley because I figured the idea of claiming that the Secretary of the Defense is unamerican and not on the side of the troops was too absurd.

Ok, that was my suspicion, I apologize. Since I've only been posting in the forum for about two weeks now, I wasn't too familiar with your posts, and couldn't really pick up whether you were intending to be ironic.
Although, sometimes it seems that with all of the absurd claims or statements that are made on this board, it can get hard to tell who's being serious or not. For the uninitiated at least.
Anyway, sorry for the misunderstanding and thanks for setting me straight. :)

(Smiley is there to show I think you are right, not because I'm laughing at your post.) :)
(The last smiley is there to show that I'm friendly.) :)
Ok ..... stop it!

Now, back on topic: I'm also very curious to see how an American religious right senator will comment on alleged homosexual-abuse acts from American soldiers. If the allegations are true, that is.

How about decorative on the outside, yet sagging and out of touch?

He's right about one thing, the Supreme Court is used more and more to circumvent the will of the people by judging everything as a Constitutional Amendment issue instead of being taken to a vote.

(I'm asking because I thought the big thing for Americans was that majority doesn't necessarily rule if/when they are trying to take rights away from a minority.)
Edited to add: 2500! 2500! I should have written something more important if I had noticed earlier .....

Are you kidding?????? Do you think it was a coincidence that she barred her LEFT boob? That clearly symbolizes.... What? It was her right boob? Well as I was saying, barring her right boob clearly shows her disrespect for the right in general a well known characteristic of the far left. Hence Janet Jackson's boob represents the far left. QED. :D

It's only a sin if it's between consenting adults.

I agree, but then again "people like that" are far more common in the Arab world, just replace "American" with "Arab" and there ya go. :(

Is it true what I heard that Senator McCain walked out on this guy's speech, or am I just delusional?

Looks like yes (to the first ;)).
Sen. John McCain, R-Arizona, left the committee room during Inhofe's remarks. Asked outside the meeting room whether he agreed with Inhofe, McCain replied, "No way."

Also from the article:
Inhofe said the photographs of U.S. soldiers mistreating hooded, naked prisoners should be accompanied by photos of mass graves and the executions of prisoners under Saddam.
Wow. I've been numbed to the "Clinton did it too" excuse, but now we're using "Saddam did it too/was even worse"? That's not good.
