War with Iraq appears a step closer after Tony Blair said he believed a second United Nations resolution on Iraq was "now probably less likely than at any time".
Conservative leader Iain Duncan Smith emerged from talks with Tony Blair on Thursday to say his "thoughts and prayers" were now with British forces and their families.
That last bit certainly makes it sound like we really are at the end of the road. The US want the resolution on the table this week; the UN requires 24 hours notice of a tabling. Do the UN work at weekends?
Meanwhile, some British ministers are expecting bombing to commence on Monday.
