Hi!
Has anyone used this service to register a domain name? Apparently, they protect your identity. Please tell me about your experience with them if you use them.
thanks!

They own your domain for you.
If they are honest they are okay, then the only danger is if they go belly up then your domain becomes one of their assets.
There are better ways to protect your identity.

Sorry, hit post too soon.
You can get a dba ( doing business as) at your bank and use that name as the registrant. Get a post office box for the address.

Once again, consider that you do not actually own the domain name this way.

According to Aplus.Net you do, this is the comment back from them about the registration if you opt for their privacy service.
"A domain name registered with Aplus.Net will be yours no matter whether you register it with or without privacy protection. The privacy protection does not allow people to see your contact information but it is still kept safe in our database and you can transfer your domain name to different domain name registrar whenever you wish to."

Follow your link and proceed to order a domain name that's available. You will get to a page that has more info on their privacy service. It shows clearly that the domain name registrant listed with ICANN will be:
DomainListingAgent.com
PO Box 927010
San Diego, CA, 92192-7010
It will not be your name on the actual domain name record. You won't be able to move your domain name to another registrar yourself, because your name won't be listed as a contact. They will move it for you to where ever you want.
They may be perfectly honest.
But doing it with a dba and a po box is the best way to maintain privacy and ultimate control.
Hope this helps :)

As Claus recently found out, if you don't keep accurate contact records with your registrar you are in danger of losing your domain name.

Then I guess I should have said, "As Claus is about to find out."

Well, I'm sure it will be OK to correct it, once it's up for renewal.

How are they going to know his address details are wrong?

Maybe BulkRegister will call him and he won't answer? They will send some mail to the registrant listed and he won't respond? I don't know.
It's doubtful he will get caught. But, like I was saying before, it's a requirement for all registrants of domain names to keep accurate and up to date records with their registrar.
He has seen the evidence and he denies it.
edited to add: I reread and understand the tone now. I assure you I won't call in a dispute on his domain name. It's not that important to me that he admits he is wrong.
Now that this is out in public, though, I do wish he would take steps to correct it in case someone does dispute it.

Your reply does not seem to be addressing what you posted.
The post I asked you about was this one:

This seems a simple statement of something that you know will be happening rather than just your speculations.

Right. The word "about" was a poor choice of words. I got up in the middle of the night and posted that. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
I see this morning how it appears to be a threat. It isn't. :)
To be fair, you asked me "How are they going to know his address details are wrong?"

Thanks for clearing it up.
