Apparently, Bush is a Nazi.
Search on google with this keyword
"bush is a nazi" here:
http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&q=%22bush+is+a+nazi%22
You get 861 links
Search for "Hitler is a nazi" (7) or "Hitler was a nazi" (101) and you'll see what I mean.
I challenge you to find anyone who fits the phrase "x was a nazi" or "y is a nazi" who will get more hits than Bush.
He's not a nazi.
Liberals are just INSANE.

Or perhaps, Ben, you are confused because the internet has been around for such a short time. Googlefights mean nothing. For example:
"Lincoln was a great president" = 146 hits
"Bush is a great president" = 1130 hits
Even if you divided that number in half (because there were two Bushes), your logic says that Bush is more than three times better than Lincon was.
But try

"Lincoln was a terrible president"

According to Google, a search for "liberals are insane" yields about 56,000 links, and "conservatives are insane" yields about 52,000 links.
However, a search of "Political Conservatism as Motivated Social Cognition" yields 875 links, mainly because that was a $1.2M US funded study done under Bush, an alleged "Nazi" or Naz-sym.
Yet "Political Liberalism as Motivated Social Cognition" yields only 2 links!
What gives here folks?

But I can't let Michael Moore have the whole loony debate?
It's crazy to be calling a decent man a "Nazi", just because he is of a different political party. What's truly insane is the rhetoric in this country. We need to tone it down and kick the nutballs like Michael Moore out of the national discussion.

I personally prefer to draw the line a little farther, even, toward civility. Calling someone a "nutball", or "INSANE," while generally not as bad as calling someone a Nazi, still seems to me to encourage (rather than discourage) overblown and overheated rhetoric.
That, however, is not the main point I want to make. My point is an obvious one, but no one else seems to have made it yet in this thread so here I go.
I did a google search, using quotation marks, on "George Bush is a Nazi." That turned up 115 hits. I don't have time to click them all to see what they actually say, but fortunately Google gives a line or two preview from each so that it is often possible to get the gist without needing to click the link. Examining the first page -- 10 entries -- here's what I found.
The first item is Jonah Goldberg of National Review saying what he thinks "of all these people who e-mail me insistent that George Bush is a Nazi." Items 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7, similarly, appear to be people railing against the supposedly numerous people who claim Bush is a Nazi. Item # 6 is simply someone using the phrase "George Bush is a Nazi" as an example of something they don't care about. Item 9 is song lyrics, item 10 a humor list.
The only one of the 10 items that appears to be an actual example of someone calling George Bush a Nazi is # 8.
It would seem important to consider how many of the "Bush is a Nazi" hits are actual examples of someone attacking Bush by calling him a Nazi and how many are examples of Bush supporters attacking Bush opponents by claiming they call Bush a Nazi. From the first 10 items on the list, it's primarily the latter that is turning up -- six times as many.
It's possible there really are a lot of people calling Bush a Nazi. Just because people claim it, though, doesn't show it -- and the claims (and responses to these claims) should not be mistakenly counted as examples of it happening.

Well, let's see.
Thinks his nation should control the world? Yes or no?
Thinks he's superior. Yes or no?
Thinks might makes right? Yes or no?
Insists on nationalist or racist superiority? Yes or no?
I'm not sure, actually, what the answers come out to here.

I don't dare to google the phrase "Ariel Sharon is a Nazi". I'm not sure if you are serious, but if you really want to find out 'what the world of Internet' thinks about the Islamists, just drop the quotation marks.
11,000 for Islamists are Nazis
5,540 for Radical Islamists are Nazis
55,500 for Ariel Sharon is a Nazi
And a quick look at those about Sharon makes me think that most of them are talking about how bad it is that someone says that Sharon is a nazi. :)

Mike Godwin worked for the EFF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_Frontier_Foundation) a legal organization dedicated to defending civil liberties on the Internet. Now he does similarly-themed stuff for Public Knowledge (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_Knowledge) a lobbying group which tries to encourage intellectual property laws which aren't completely insane.
Anyway, the exact phrase "Hitler was a nazi" rarely turns up because it has little semantic value. "Hitler was a nazi" is like "My cat has fur." (10 hits.) It's a fairly obvious statement which has little value in saying. To contrast, calling someone a nazi in that fashion who is not actually a nazi does have meaning. It's an insult.

First, there is only 193,000 resuls for Islamists and 708,000 for Ariel Sharon. Second, islamists and nazi is not a very good generalization.

BTW how many links of the 55,500 that describe Sharon as a Nazi you opened and checked? To make it easier for myself, I looked at the 11(?) that used the exact phrase (search with the quotation marks).
2 of them are about a Likud member(!) calling him a nazi.
1 is mocking the phrase: Hitler used tanks, and Israel uses tanks, so Ariel Sharon is a Nazi (as you can hear over and over and over again in what passes for intelligent commentary among European and Arab "intellectuals").
2 are about a LaRouche speech: "Tuesday, the group's table displayed a sign proclaiming `No, we're not anti- Semitic. Yes, Ariel Sharon is a Nazi butcher,' defending their claim that Israel wants to `rape' the Islamic world."
1 is a letter to the editor of 'The Panama News'(?) - he's for real: "Ariel Sharon is a Nazi, a war criminal and a tyrant."
The next one is not for real: "Saddam Hussein is a vicious predator and a pathological bully. So I'm a racist now? Of course I also think that Clinton is a sociopathic murderer, Henry Kissinger is a war criminal and a cockroach, Ariel Sharon is a Nazi--oops, two of those people are Jews, so maybe I am an anti-semite, or wait, I'm Jewish, so I am a self-hating Jew, but that's a Zionist insult, not an anti-imperialist one, I get so confused."
1 is a comment to an article from Jerry Falwell
1 is IMHO a bit 'strange' (Jonas the Prophet), but he writes "Ariel Sharon is a NAZI, a War Criminal and a Tyrant."
1 is the Beth Sholom Synagogue complaining that people call Sharon a nazi.
1 is wondering how people can call him a nazi.
If you allow me to forget the Likud member, it looks like far less than half of the quotes are 'the real thing'.

Bjorn when we want to find an exact quote in a search engine and eliminate in the best possible way the problem that Nova Land and you have spotted , then we must use the quotations marks.
I can accept Lux objections that means that for better results one must try multiple phrases but my reply was in the context of the discussion and we were discussing about the use of the word Nazi.
15 links out of the 55.500 doesn't sound like a good ratio but this is not the important anyway.
According to your numbers:
11,000 for Islamists are Nazis
5,540 for Radical Islamists are Nazis
55,500 for Ariel Sharon is a Nazi
The numbers speak for themselves. From the one hand we have a bunch of terrorists who behead people in front of cameras and on the other hand we have an Israeli P.M.
Once IDF demolishes the house of a suicide terrorist , Sharon is a Nazi. Once a bunch of criminals behead an american hostage in front of the camera they are just radical islamists. They behead Americans, who cares?
The world should be ashamed for those double standards.

Nowadays, we (I?) tend to think of Nazis as practioners of genocide in order to achieve racial supremacy. Let's remember that the NSDAP was in power in Germany a full 10 years before the "final solution" was codified. It didn't start with random mass murder, it devolved into the same.
I mention this only to bring a sense of perspective that appears to me to be missing from this discussion.

I, for one, find it a lot more natural to find 'nazi' in an article about a jew than in an article about islamists. Don't you?
