Has Anyone seen the article from Morris Costumes about the most famous bigfoot footage ever caught? Turned out it was a hoax and Morris Costumes unknowingly constructed the costume for the hoax.
I am a buyer of Morris Costumes of Charlotte NC. and they included wit hthe latest catalog an article about the hoax. Morris made gorilla costumes and sold them through mailorder. The gentleman that made the footage bought the costume to film this footage. I can remember "noted authorities" on bigfoot saying how this footage couldn't be faked and no human could walk like the creature in the video footage does.
If I told people that Atlas held up the earth they would have theories as to why this is true.

As a matter of fact I think Weekly World News has caught bigfoot several times as well as the Lochness Monster and Satan's Skull.

Anyway just wanted to tell everyone that. I want to try and post the article and photo but don't know if I can.
Thanks to all.

The current issue of Skeptical Inquirer has a detailed article all about the hoax. Very well-written.

I've little doubt that the footage is a man in a costume, but this companies claim that it made it makes my BS meter twitch.

Just curious but why does your BS meter twitch when you here that Morris Costumes made the costume?
They did not make the costume just for him, they made gorilla costumes as well as others and he bought one to film footage with.
Morris Costumes is a huge wholesale haunted house and costume wholsaler. Probably one of the biggest if not the biggest in the country. Phillip morris has been around for many many years and performed magic shows as well as costume business for a very very long time. He has a big rep in the costume and haunted house wholesaling biz and wouldn't take the chance to just make up a story.

Just my 2 cents.

It twitches when a maker of a famous costume doesn't reveal himself until 40 years after the event, and then uses that costume to promote their line of costumes. Lots of free newspaper pub too.

If you're going to make a fraudulent claim of responsibility, best to make it after you can be sure that most, if not all, of the real hoaxers are dead.

Another reason I'm suspicious is that the costume used in the footage sems designed as a bigfoot costume, not a gorilla. I haven't seen any gorilla costumes that look like a good match, but not that I've really tried!

Does the company have a record of the sale?

I have only a fragment of a smidgeon of a memory of that bigfoot clip, but wasn't the colour of the "creature" a sort of Chewbacca-wookie-brown?
Last time I checked, Gorillas were much closer to black. If the suit was supposed to be a gorilla-suit then the colour was wrong.

Just another twit with a twitch.
